In this homily of 8 December 2024, Fr. Thomas speaks about the woman who had been bent over for 18 years. In Luke 13:10-17, we learn that Jesus laid his hands upon her, and she was able to stand up straight immediately. Afterward, she praised God. Sadly, the ruler of the synagogue became angry with Jesus because he healed on the sabbath.
Fr. Thomas went on to explain how modern life can cause us to focus so much on the world that we forget to look up toward God and our life with Him in the Heavenly Kingdom. Thus, the ultimate message of this Gospel is to do the will of God, pray, and help others to heal.
Please pray that God raise up this brotherhood and sisterhood, which are committed to Eastern Christian Contemplation and the healing sacraments of the Church.
