The Dormition of the Theotokos is one of the Great Feasts of the Church, which commemorates the death, resurrection, and glorification of Christ's mother. Also known as the Assumption (because Mary has been brought by God into the heavenly kingdom in the fullness of her spiritual and bodily existence), this is a celebration of Mary's faith and love for God, and a sign of hope for the rest of humanity!
